Skinboosters in Munich
Profhilo & Skinvive at LIPS and SKIN

Skinboosters in Munich with Profhilo and Skinvive: more hydration, glow and skin quality without adding volume. Personally treated by Dr. Eva Maria Strobl.

More hydration, more glow and a fresher expression – without changing the face.

In my practice in Munich, I perform skinbooster treatments with Profhilo and Skinvive. Both treatments improve skin quality from within. The skin appears smoother, fresher and more hydrated. The goal is not to add volume, but to achieve a naturally refreshed complexion.

The treatment is especially suitable when the skin looks tired, dry or crepey. Skinboosters can also be a very good option for early signs of skin ageing, fine lines or a dull complexion.

What Are Skinboosters?

Skinboosters are treatments with hyaluronic acid that are not primarily used to add volume. Their main purpose is to improve skin quality. The skin can retain more hydration, appears smoother and often develops a fresher glow.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, skinboosters are injected very superficially or into specific injection points in the skin. They are not intended to shape the face or change its contours.

In my practice in Munich, I mainly recommend skinboosters when the skin does not yet need significant wrinkle correction, but should look fresher, smoother and more well cared for overall.

Who Are Skinboosters Suitable For?

Skinboosters are suitable for patients who want a visible improvement in their skin, but do not want to change their facial features.

Typical concerns include:

  • dry skin
  • tired-looking skin
  • a dull complexion
  • fine crepey lines
  • reduced elasticity
  • early signs of skin ageing
  • dry skin on the neck
  • fine lines on the décolleté
  • hands that appear more wrinkled
  • skin that no longer looks fresh despite good skincare

Many of my patients in Munich do not want a “done” look. This is exactly where skinboosters can be useful. The treatment is subtle. Your face remains your own face. It simply looks fresher and more well cared for.

Skinboosters or Dermal Fillers?

A traditional dermal filler is used to build volume, enhance contours or fill individual lines. This can be useful for areas such as the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline or nasolabial folds.

Skinboosters have a different goal. They improve the skin itself. They provide hydration, support a smoother skin texture and can improve elasticity. However, they do not specifically change the shape of the face.

Put simply:

  • Dermal filler shapes.
  • Skinbooster improves the skin from within.

That is why a skinbooster is a good choice if you want to look fresher, but do not want a volume treatment.

Profhilo or Skinvive – Which Is Better?

IIn my practice, I work with Profhilo and Skinvive. Both belong to the skinbooster category. However, they differ in their effect and treatment approach.

Profhilo

Profhilo is often used when the skin is generally losing firmness, elasticity and tone. The treatment uses a special hyaluronic acid and is often described as bioremodelling.

Profhilo is particularly suitable for:

  • reduced skin elasticity
  • tired, dry skin
  • fine lines
  • early signs of skin ageing
  • face, neck and décolleté

As a rule, two treatments about four weeks apart are recommended.

Skinvive

Skinvive is a modern skinbooster by Juvéderm. The treatment is performed with very fine microinjections. The main goal is more hydration, a smoother skin surface and a fresh glow.

Skinvive is particularly suitable for:

  • dry skin
  • a dull complexion
  • fine dryness lines
  • the desire for more glow
  • skin that should look smoother and fresher

Often, one treatment is enough to begin with. The effect usually lasts for several months.

Which treatment is better?

That depends on the condition of your skin. If the main goal is more firmness and skin tone, Profhilo may be the better choice. If hydration, smoothness and glow are the main priorities, Skinvive is often a very good option.

I do not make this decision based on the product name, but on your skin. During the consultation, I assess what your skin really needs.

Profhilo in Munich

Profhilo is a skinbooster for improving skin quality. The treatment is designed to support the skin from within. It is particularly suitable for skin that appears drier, thinner or less elastic.

With Profhilo, the hyaluronic acid is usually injected into a few defined points. On the face, the so-called BAP technique is often used. This allows the product to spread within the tissue.

After the treatment, small raised areas may be visible at the injection sites. These usually disappear within a short time. Mild redness or small bruises are also possible.

I often recommend Profhilo for patients who want natural skin improvement and do not want a traditional filler treatment.

Typical Treatment Areas for Profhilo

  • face
  • neck
  • décolleté
  • hands
  • loose or dry areas of skin

Costs for Profhilo

Profhilo for the face costs from approx. €300 in my practice. For the body, costs start from €700. The exact price depends on the treatment area and the extent of treatment required.

Skinvive in Munich

Skinvive is a skinbooster by Juvéderm. It was specifically developed to improve skin hydration and skin smoothness. Skinvive is not a traditional filler for volume treatment.

The product is injected into the skin using very fine microinjections. There, it can help bind moisture and make the skin surface appear smoother.

Many patients choose Skinvive when they want a fresh, well cared-for glow, without others noticing that anything has been done.

Typical Treatment Areas for Skinvive

  • cheeks
  • face
  • neck
  • décolleté
  • hands

Skinvive and Volite

Skinvive can be understood as a further development in the field of hyaluronic acid skinboosters. Many patients are still familiar with Volite, the predecessor product to Skinvive. Skinvive pursues a similar goal: smoother, better-hydrated skin with a natural-looking result.

Costs for Skinvive

Skinvive for the face costs from €520 in my practice. A treatment of the face, neck and décolleté starts from €960. The exact price depends on the area treated and the amount of product required.

Which Areas Can Be Treated with Skinboosters?

Face

On the face, skinboosters can be used for dry skin, fine lines and tired-looking skin. The cheeks, lateral areas of the face and areas with fine dehydration lines are treated particularly often.

Neck

The neck often shows fine lines and reduced elasticity early on. Skinboosters can help improve hydration in this area and make the skin appear smoother.

Décolleté

Fine crepey lines often develop on the décolleté due to sun exposure, sleeping position or dry skin. Skinboosters can improve skin texture and make the skin appear fresher.

Hands

Over time, the hands often lose hydration and elasticity. Skinboosters can improve skin texture without making the hands look artificially plumped.

Treatment Process

  1. Consultation and skin analysis: Before every treatment, I examine your skin carefully. What matters is not only which product is currently well known. The key question is what your skin needs. We discuss your goal, possible risks, previous treatments and whether Profhilo or Skinvive is the better fit.
  2. Skin preparation: The skin is cleansed and disinfected. For sensitive skin, a numbing cream can be used. In most cases, however, the treatment is well tolerated.
  3. Injection: The product is injected with a very fine needle. With Profhilo, I usually work with a few defined injection points. With Skinvive, several very fine microinjections are often placed.
  4. Immediately after treatment: After the treatment, small areas of redness, swelling or injection marks may be visible. With Profhilo, small bumps may appear, which usually settle quickly.
  5. Aftercare and follow-up treatment: After the injection, the skin is gently cooled. With Profhilo, a second session takes place after about four weeks to stabilise and optimise the result. With Skinvive, one treatment is usually sufficient.

When Will I See the Result?

The result does not develop at the same speed for every patient.

  • With Skinvive, the skin often looks fresher and smoother after just a few days. The full effect usually develops over several weeks.
  • With Profhilo, the effect also develops gradually. The skin often appears visibly fresher, smoother and more elastic after the second treatment.

Important: skinboosters are not an immediate volume treatment. They improve skin quality. That is exactly why the result usually looks natural.

How Long Does a Skinbooster Last?

Longevity depends on the product, the condition of the skin, metabolism and lifestyle.

With Skinvive, the effect often lasts for about 6 to 9 months. With Profhilo, regular refresh treatments are useful if you want to maintain the result.

Sun exposure, smoking, stress, lack of sleep and very dry skin can affect longevity. Good skincare and consistent sun protection help support the result.

How Many Sessions Are Needed?

With Profhilo, I usually recommend two sessions about four weeks apart. After that, a refresh treatment can be performed depending on the condition of the skin.

With Skinvive, one treatment is often sufficient to begin with. Depending on the skin condition and the desired result, a repeat treatment may be useful.

During the consultation, I will explain which treatment plan is realistic for your skin.

Risks and Side Effects

Skinboosters are well-tolerated treatments when performed professionally. However, they are still injections. This means that side effects can occur.

  • Mild swelling or redness
  • Small haematomas
  • Temporary asymmetries caused by minimal fluid shifts
  • Small lumps or uneven areas, which usually settle spontaneously within a few days
  • Allergic reactions and inflammation, especially in cases of known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, are extremely rare
  • Vascular injury and embolism are theoretically possible, but occur extremely rarely, especially when the treatment is performed by an experienced doctor

In my practice, skinbooster treatments are performed personally by me. It is important to me that the treatment is performed medically correctly, calmly and without time pressure.

Who Are Skinboosters Not Suitable For?

Skinboosters are not suitable in cases of acute infection in the treatment area, for example inflamed areas of skin or active herpes.

I also do not perform aesthetic injection treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

In cases of known allergies, autoimmune diseases, coagulation disorders or the use of blood-thinning medication, we clarify in advance whether treatment is possible and appropriate.

Can Skinboosters Be Combined with Other Treatments?

Yes, skinboosters can often be combined well with other minimally invasive treatments. However, the right sequence is important.

Skinboosters and Botox

Botox specifically relaxes certain facial muscles. Skinboosters improve skin quality. The two can complement each other well when both expression lines and dry or crepey skin play a role.

Skinboosters and Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can treat volume loss, contours or individual lines. Skinboosters improve the skin surface and hydration. If needed, both treatments can be combined.

Skinboosters and Microneedling

Microneedling can be useful for skin texture, pores and scars. Skinboosters complement the treatment when hydration and skin smoothness are the main priorities.

Skinboosters and PRP

PRP uses the body’s own blood components to support skin regeneration. Skinboosters focus more on hyaluronic acid and hydration. Which treatment is more suitable depends on the condition of the skin.

What Skinboosters Cannot Do

Skinboosters are not a skin-tightening operation and they are not a substitute for a filler when volume is missing.

They can make the skin appear fresher, smoother and better hydrated. However, they do not lift significantly sagging facial areas and they do not fill deep lines in the way a traditional filler can.

I address this openly during the consultation. A good result does not come from treating as much as possible. It comes from choosing the right treatment for the right concern.

Skinboosters at LIPS and SKIN in Munich

In my practice in Munich, a natural-looking result is especially important to me. I do not treat according to trends, but according to the face, the skin and the wishes of each patient.

Skinboosters fit this approach very well. They do not change the facial features. They improve skin quality and often make the skin appear fresher and healthier.

Every treatment is performed personally by me. This allows me to carefully control which product, amount and technique are best suited to your skin.

FAQ – Skinboosters in Munich

What is a skinbooster?

A skinbooster is an injectable treatment with hyaluronic acid to improve skin quality. The goal is more hydration, smoothness and glow. Unlike a traditional filler, a skinbooster is not intended to add volume.

What is the difference between a skinbooster and a dermal filler?

A dermal filler is used to treat volume, contour or individual lines. A skinbooster mainly improves skin hydration and skin texture. The face should look fresher as a result, but not different.

Is Profhilo a skinbooster?

Yes, Profhilo can be considered part of the skinbooster category. It is used to improve skin quality, elasticity and hydration. The focus is not on volume, but on bioremodelling of the skin.

Is Skinvive a filler?

Skinvive contains hyaluronic acid, but it is not a traditional volume filler. It is used more superficially and is mainly intended to improve skin hydration and skin smoothness. The goal is a fresh glow, not more volume.

Which is better: Profhilo or Skinvive?

That depends on the condition of the skin. Profhilo is often a good fit for reduced elasticity and the desire for more skin firmness. Skinvive is particularly suitable when hydration, smoothness and glow are the main priorities.

How long does a skinbooster last?

The effect usually lasts for several months, depending on the product and the condition of the skin. With Skinvive, about 6 to 9 months is often realistic. With Profhilo, regular refresh treatments are useful if the result is to be maintained.

When will I see the result after a skinbooster treatment?

An initial freshening effect may be visible after just a few days. The full effect usually develops over several weeks. With Profhilo, the result is often more clearly visible after the second session.

How many treatments are needed?

With Profhilo, two sessions about four weeks apart are usually recommended. With Skinvive, one treatment is often sufficient to begin with. The exact plan depends on the condition of the skin and the desired result.

How much does a skinbooster treatment cost in Munich?

The costs depend on the product and the treatment area. Profhilo for the face starts from €300 in my practice. Skinvive for the face starts from €520.

Is a skinbooster treatment painful?

The treatment is usually well tolerated. Very fine needles are used. For sensitive skin, a numbing cream can be applied on request.

Am I socially presentable after a skinbooster treatment?

In most cases, you are socially presentable again quickly. However, small areas of redness, swelling or bruising may occur. With Profhilo, small bumps may appear, which usually settle quickly.

What should I avoid after a skinbooster treatment?

On the day of treatment, you should avoid exercise if possible and not apply make-up. Sauna, solarium, strong sun exposure and facial massages should be avoided for a short time. You will receive detailed instructions after the treatment.

Can skinboosters be done in summer?

Yes, skinboosters are generally also possible in summer. Consistent sun protection is important. Directly after the treatment, strong sun exposure, solarium and sauna should be avoided.

Do skinboosters help with wrinkles?

Skinboosters can improve fine dehydration lines and crepey lines. They do not treat deep lines or volume loss in the same way as a traditional dermal filler. This is why they look particularly natural.

Do skinboosters help with dry skin?

Yes, dry skin is a common reason for skinbooster treatment. Hyaluronic acid can bind moisture and make the skin appear fresher and smoother. Skinvive is a particularly interesting option for this.

Do skinboosters help with acne scars?

Skinboosters can improve skin quality, but they do not replace targeted scar treatment. For acne scars, microneedling or a combination treatment may also be useful depending on the skin. I discuss this individually during the consultation.

Can skinboosters be combined with Botox?

Yes, this is often useful. Botox treats expression lines, while skinboosters improve skin quality. Both treatments have different goals and can complement each other well.

Can skinboosters be combined with dermal fillers?

Yes, skinboosters and dermal fillers can be combined. The filler treats volume or contour, while the skinbooster improves skin quality. Proper planning is important.

Can skinboosters be combined with microneedling?

Yes, depending on the skin, a combination may be useful. Microneedling is particularly suitable for skin texture and pores. Skinboosters improve hydration and smoothness.

Can skinboosters be combined with PRP?

Yes, skinboosters and PRP can be combined. PRP works with the body’s own blood components, while skinboosters work with hyaluronic acid. Which treatment is more suitable depends on the goal of the treatment.

At what age are skinboosters suitable?

Skinboosters can be useful for younger skin if dryness, a dull complexion or first lines are a concern. They can also be used for more mature skin if skin quality is to be improved. The condition of the skin is more important than age.

Will a skinbooster change my face?

No, that is not the goal. Skinboosters are intended to make the skin appear fresher, smoother and better hydrated. The facial features remain unchanged.
